Hall of « The Sole Command » - Doullens
The Allies had full confidence in Foch and placed him at the head of operations...
Doullens has the « hall of the sole command », in one of the turning points of the war , overall command of the combined French and British armies was given to General Foch, on 26 March 1918. This marked the beginning of the end of the war - first halting the German advance, then turning is back to sweep on to the final victory in November 1918.
