Visiting Amiens with my disability

Tourism accessible to all

In the heart of the Somme region, Amiens, a city of many facets, is a model of accessibility.

A favorite destination open to as many people as possible. Because being disabled shouldn’t be a barrier to discovery, in 2017 the Picardy capital was awarded the “Destination pour tous” mark, becoming the second city in France to be able to guarantee an optimal welcome for people with visual and motor disabilities. And because that wasn’t enough, it has since been awarded Gold level, confirming its commitment to the other two types of disability: auditory and cognitive.

Whether you’re disabled or not, Amiens opens its arms to you! Whether you’re interested in our built or natural heritage, discover some of these adapted sites that will help you make the most of your visit.

Notre-Dame d’Amiens Cathedral

Start your urban exploration with a leap back in time, as you pass through the gates of the majestic Notre-Dame d’Amiens Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An architectural feat that has watched over the city for 800 years, its dimensions make it one of the largest Gothic buildings ever erected: 145m long, 42m high and with a total volume of 200,000 m3.

An absolutely unforgettable visit, accessible to all thanks to numerous adapted facilities, such as access ramps and a special entrance to facilitate movement for people with reduced mobility. In addition, audioguides and tour aids are available for all visitors, offering an immersive experience of this architectural masterpiece.
