600,000 years of history
of man
The great Prehistory Nature Park tells the story of 600,000 years of human history.
Reconstructed habitats and daily life demonstrate theongoing interaction between man and nature since the dawn of mankind.
At Samara, archaeology comes alive. One by one, preconceived ideas fall by the wayside, and we learn while having fun. Visitors can witness the working of metal, clay or fibers, try their hand at throwing an assegai, learn fire-starting techniques, flint knapping and much more.
The adventure continues
Nature and archaeology
The discovery continues in the marshes of the Somme valley. Samara is also a veritable sanctuary of nature: plant species, old peat extraction pits. The atmosphere becomes mystical as you discover the ex-votos emerging from the water.
Discover the skills and techniques of our prehistoric ancestors in workshops led by enthusiasts.
Take a break at one of our food and beverage outlets, and try a cervoise, an authentic Gallic drink.
