A passion for guiding
Unforgettable outings
Thanks to the support of the Festival de l’oiseau et de la nature, a flagship event in the Baie de Somme, a network of passionate, trained and experienced nature guides has been set up in the département. They will accompany you in complete safety as you discover the natural riches, fauna and flora of the Bay of the Somme, protecting you from tidal hazards, for example.
These guides are often local children who will help you experience the Baie de Somme to the full, because they visit it day by day, see it evolve, know it and simply love it.
One of our most emblematic and “mythical” outings is to cross the bay from Le Crotoy to Saint-Valery-sur-Somme (or vice versa) at low tide. The trip lasts 3 hours. The soft, slippery sands and small meanders make for a fairly physical outing.
Adapted equipment
to be planned
Windbreaker, sun cream, cap, glasses, boots in winter, old sneakers or bare feet in summer, water…
The guides will organize your return: a car on the other side upstream from the exit, a cab, a ticket for the Baie de Somme railroad, on foot (12 kms) via the coastal path.
You can book your nature outing online!
We discover unknown plants, salty, iodized, vitaminized and crunchy: all the flavors of the bay!
From surprise to surprise
fauna and flora
We discover curious creatures hidden in the mud… toothy worms and mischievous molluscs… We discover the passion of hut hunters. Kids love the mud-skating sequences!
And if, at the end of the tour, you’re still not satisfied, there are other themed outings on offer: twilight, gourmet, cliff-top, grand tour of Marquenterre, etc…
Safety instructions
to respect
The Baie de Somme is an exceptional natural environment, alive with tides that are as impressive as they areunpredictable. The tides carry many risks: wind, fog, getting stuck…
For your own safety, do not venture out on your own and follow the instructions:
– find out about tide times and weather conditions.
– leave the Bay of the Somme 3.5 hours before high tide and wait at least 1 hour after high t ide to enter the bay (prefectoral decree of July 19, 1977).
– make sure you are properly equipped: warning devices and emergency numbers, appropriate clothing, first-aid kit.
– choose outings supervised by professionals committed to the Qualinat approach.

“A walk in the Baie de Somme or Baie d’Authie is a state of mind. Here, all the senses are awakened, the emotion of looking at a landscape, the characteristic smell of mollières and wormwood or the pleasure of listening, quite simply, to the song of the passerines that feast on the sea buckthorn berries.”
