A Belle Epoque train
The charm of yesteryear
Authentic Belle Epoque carriages pulled by valiant steam locomotives run between Le Crotoy, Noyelles-sur-Mer, Saint-Valery-sur-Somme and Cayeux-sur-Mer… Enjoy the charm of old-time travel on the old sea bathing network, recognized since 1887.
Winding your way along willow-lined streams, between mollières and salt meadows, passing through fields and marshes, you’ll discover the verdant charms of the wild and authentic Baie de Somme. One whistle… and you’re transported 80 years back in time!

Step back in time and take the train as it was in the good old days…
The winning combo:
train + bay crossing or train + boat
You can combine your train journey with a crossing of the bay from Saint-Valery-sur-Somme or Le Crotoy. The CFBS will take you back to your starting point. After a 3-hour walk in the sand, you’ll appreciate the rest. It’s also possible to combine the train and a boat trip with the “de rail en vague” animation.

Chief Mechanic for the Baie de Somme Railway
“For me, the most beautiful part is between Noyelles and Saint-Valery. That’s where you really get the B n one side, you can see Le Crotoy, Saint-Valery, Le Hourdel and the sea in the background. On the other side, there are the marshes. When the sun sets, it’s really magnificent.“
